Hi, my name is Mikey!!
My estimated birthdate is
2-14-01. We picked it 'cause I'm such a sweetheart! Which
is pretty miraculous when you know my history. You see, I did
time in a puppymill and then when they were done with me and two of my
girlfriends, they turned us in to a high kill shelter.
Fortunately, some great people heard about us and contacted keeshond
rescue. We were whisked from the shelter and taken to a vet where
I was given my vaccines, neutered (ouch), and tested for heartworms
(negative-YEA). The day these pictures were taken, I'd just been
groomed - something that had never happened before. The groomers
told my foster mom that I was a very good boy for them and behaved like
this was my regular routine. I feel so good now and my coat is
thick and shiny.
Because of the time I spent in
the puppymill, I am having to learn about so many new things. I'm
a little hesitant at first, but then it gets easier. Soon I'll be
an old pro at going new places and seeing new things.. I get
along with other dogs and all sizes of people. Cats really don't
interest me much, but they do smell pretty neat!!
