| Hi, My name is Shiloh! I was born September of 2005, so
I'm a young boy that's had a pretty tough time. I don't mean to
complain, but just when I get settled somewhere, it seems I lose my
family. I've already had two families, spent time in a shelter,
and now I'm in a foster home with a whole pack of keesies. Don't
get me wrong, my foster mom and dad take really good care of me and
love me, but it isn't the same as having a family of your own. I
asked foster mom why no one wanted to keep me and she very patiently
explained that I have allergies that need to be brought under
control. She explained about the pills I get (Benadryl) and how
they help keep me from itching. I'm also on a special food just
in case that's adding to my itching. She said the shampoo I use
for my baths helps too.
The scary part was when she told
me I would be scheduled for allergy testing with a special vet that
only works with special little guys like me! He'll do something
called "patch" testing to tell him what is making me itch all the
time. Then he can make some special new medicine made just for me
that will hopefully control my itchies. The best part is that
once all that is done, I'll be ready to go to my new forever
home!! That got me so excited I forgot all about my
itchies!
Come back often to check on my
progress!
Note from Shiloh's foster
mom: Shiloh is a very, very sweet little boy that has settled
into our home very nicely with our other dogs and cats. He loves
all people big and small and seems to pick one person to be his special
someone. Right now, with the medication, baths, and close
supervision, he seems to be glued to my side. He's very good
about the pills and baths and sleeps loose in our bedroom at
night. He wakes me up if he needs to potty during the
night. He's also crate-trained. Our hope is to be able to
identify Shiloh's allergens and start him on an antigen that will make
his life so much more enjoyable. He will need a very special
home, but we know you're out there. Please let us know if Shiloh
is the keesie to sleep on your feet.
Shiloh's vet bills for his
work-up so far and his care over the next few months will be nearly
$1000. If you would like to donate to the fund for Shiloh's care,
please let Judy know. Shiloh thanks you!
