Hi, my name is Silver!!

My birthdate is March 8, 2009 and I am one of the four puppies taken into rescue.  It has been great!!  We get to play and run and enjoy life with each other and the other dogs in foster care.  Sometimes we forget it is just a temporary home, but then we remember and hope we get one of our own soon.

There are cats here too and they sure are goofy.  They come up and act all friendly and then when I want to play, they get all huffy-like and run away.  Go figure!

Let me tell you a little bit about myself:  You already know I am a youngster and will need some training.  You also need to understand that I am very timid in new situations and around new people.  My world was very small for the first few months of my life and I had no idea there were so many new and interesting people, places and things to learn about.  I am also very sensitive, so my feelings are very easily hurt when I am scolded.  Foster mom says I need "positive reinforcement" of my behaviors.  It must be working since I am totally housebroken and reliable.  I am also crate-trained, but only have to be in there when no one is home to watch me.  I sleep loose in the bedroom at night - and I even sneak up on the bed sometimes - shhhhhhhh.  I love my toys!  In fact, my favorite part it destroying them.  Foster mom tells me it's a good thing I can tell my toys from hers!

Note from Silver's foster mom:  Silver is a sweet girl and is learning to trust more each day.  She comes up to you for affection and will even paw your leg if you don't notice her quickly enough.  Silver has had some lameness in her right front leg which we had examined and x-rayed.  No bone injuries or abnormalities were found and there is no sensitivity to touch or manipulation.  We have her on a glucosamine/chondroitin supplement and she appears to be having less lameness each week.  We assume she had a soft-tissue injury at some point that is taking its time to heal.  It does not prevent her from doing anything!

Silver is housebroken, up to date on vaccines, on heartworm preventative, spayed, and microchipped.  She will need to go to a home with another dog to help her confidence level and show her the ropes.  She will not do well with small children.

Silver will be a loving and loyal companion for the person that is willing to invest the time and patience into her development and training.  Please get in touch with us if you are that person.
